AI Transparency
My goal is to provide interesting and useful content, while using AI to save time and effort and to explore what AI can do.
I believe in transparency about how AI is used in content creation. This page explains how I use AI on this site and how you can understand the level of AI involvement in each piece of content.
The AI Badge
When reading blog posts or stories, look for the AI Badge to understand how AI was used in creating that content. The badge appears near the title and indicates:
- Generated Content: Content that was fully generated by AI (typically used for stories)
- AI Assisted & Edited: Content created with AI assistance where I provided the idea and had final editorial control (typically used for blog posts)
Here are examples of what the badges look like:
The badge also shows which AI model(s) were used. For example, you might see "AI Assisted & Edited (GPT 5, Claude Sonnet 4.5)" indicating that multiple models were involved in different roles-one as the author and another as a technical reviewer.
JSON-LD Structured Data
In addition to the visible AI Badge, I use JSON-LD structured data (Schema.org format) to provide machine-readable information about AI involvement. This helps search engines and other automated tools understand the content's origin and creation process.
The structured data includes:
- Author: The human author (me, Daniel Huckstep) who provides the idea and has final editorial control
- Contributor: AI models used in the creation process, marked as
SoftwareApplicationwith their specific roles (e.g., "author", "review") - Creator: The human creator who maintains editorial responsibility
This structured data follows Schema.org standards and is embedded in the HTML of each page. It's invisible to readers but provides transparency to search engines and other automated systems.
My Workflow
For blog posts, my typical workflow involves: I create the idea and initial concept, an AI model (like GPT 5) acts as the author to draft the content, another AI model (like Claude Sonnet 4.5) provides automated technical review, such as double-checking links, grammar, tone, etc. I serve as the editor-in-chief with final say on what gets published.
This approach allows me to explore the capabilities of AI while maintaining editorial control and ensuring the content meets my standards for quality and accuracy.
